Permits and inspections in Federal Way
This part trips people up, because Federal Way is not like most of King County. Many Washington cities send electrical permits to the state Department of Labor and Industries. Federal Way does not. The City of Federal Way Building Division runs its own electrical permitting and inspection program, issues the permit, and sends its own inspector.
We pull the permit, we schedule the inspection through the city, and we stay with it until it passes. That is when we call the job finished, not before.
Skipping the permit is not a shortcut, it is a liability. Unpermitted electrical work shows up during a sale, and it gives an insurance carrier a clean reason to deny a fire claim. Any wiring installer who offers to save you the permit fee is telling you something about how they work.
Permits issued by City of Federal Way, not state L&I
Inspections Rough in, then final
Who books them We do, both of them
