    ElectON Enterprise

Residential Electricians in Federal Way, WA

Licensed, insured, and based here in Federal Way.

We work out of 36007 9th Ct SW, and most of our jobs are within fifteen minutes of it. Panel upgrades in Twin Lakes. EV chargers in Marine Hills. Rewires in the older places off Dash Point Road where nobody has touched the wiring since the house went up.

There is a problem in a lot of Federal Way homes that owners only find out about when an inspector or an insurance adjuster tells them. Much of the housing here went up between the mid 1960s and the mid 1980s. That is the window for aluminum branch wiring, undersized 100 amp services, and Federal Pacific Stab-Lok and Zinsco panels. Those two panel brands have a long record of breakers that do not trip when a circuit overloads. If yours is one of them, the breaker is decoration.

We run into all of it regularly, and we will tell you what we find whether or not you hire us to fix it.

The rest is ordinary work done properly. Outlets, switches, ceiling fans, lighting, breakers, panels, rewires, EV chargers, remodels, new construction, and the 11pm call when something starts to smell like burning plastic. Every job gets a permit where one is required, and an inspection before we call it finished.

    Reliable residential electrical work

Residential Electrical Services in Federal Way

Licensed, permitted, and inspected. Based at 36007 9th Ct SW, so most Federal Way calls are a short drive.

    • Outlets

Dead outlets, scorch marks around a plug, or a two-prong receptacle with nowhere to put a ground wire. We replace what has failed and add new ones where you actually need them, including GFCI protection in kitchens, bathrooms, garages, and anywhere outdoors. Older Federal Way homes tend to have one outlet per wall and no ground. That is fixable.

      Learn More
    • Light Switches and Dimmers

A switch that buzzes, feels warm, or has to be held in position has a loose connection or the wrong load behind it. We replace failing switches, wire three-way and four-way circuits so a hallway works from both ends, and match dimmers to your LED fixtures so the lights stop flickering.

      Learn More
    • Ceiling Fans

Hanging a fan is not the same as hanging a light. The box has to carry the weight plus the wobble, and most of the boxes we open were never rated for it. We install fan-rated boxes, run the wiring for separate light and fan control, and mount units on sloped and vaulted ceilings.

      Learn More
    • Lighting

Recessed cans, under-cabinet strips, outdoor and landscape lighting, full fixture swaps. Layout is the part people skip, and it is the part that determines whether you like the room afterward. Put the cans in the wrong place and you get a shadow across the counter you cook on. We plan it with you before anyone touches a ladder.

      Learn More
    • Circuit Breakers

Breakers trip for a reason. Sometimes it is a space heater and a microwave sharing a circuit. Sometimes it is a short inside a wall. We find out which, replace worn or undersized breakers, and add AFCI or GFCI protection where code requires it. If your panel is a Federal Pacific or a Zinsco, the breakers themselves are the problem and we will walk you through the options.

      Learn More
    • Whole-house Rewiring

Knob and tube, cloth-wrapped conductors, and aluminum branch circuits from the 1965 to 1973 window all turn up around here. Insurers have gotten stricter about all three, and some will not write a policy until it is gone. We rewire circuit by circuit, permit the work, and schedule it so you can keep living in the house while it happens.

      Learn More
    • Electrical Panels

A 100 amp panel was plenty in 1978. Add an EV charger, a heat pump, and an induction range and it is not. We run a load calculation before quoting so the number you get is based on your house rather than a guess, coordinate the meter work with Puget Sound Energy, and upgrade to 200 amp service with capacity left over.

      Learn More
    • Smoke Detectors and CO Alarms

Washington requires interconnected smoke alarms in bedrooms and hallways, and carbon monoxide alarms outside sleeping areas. Battery units stuck to a ceiling usually do not satisfy that. We hardwire and interconnect them so when one sounds, they all do.

      Learn More
    • EV Chargers

Level 2 Charging for Tesla, Ford, Rivian, and anything running a J1772 or NACS connector. We check whether your panel can carry the load before selling you anything, pull the permit, run the circuit, and stay on it through inspection. Some homes need a service upgrade first. We tell you that at the estimate, not after the truck is unloaded.

      Learn More
    • New Construction

Rough-in through trim-out on custom homes, ADUs, and detached garages. We read the plans, coordinate with your GC and the other trades, and set boxes where the drywall crew will not have to guess.

      Learn More
    • Remodeling And Renovation

Kitchens and baths need more circuits than they did when the house was built. Basement conversions and ADU builds usually need their own subpanel. We work around finished surfaces, fish wire instead of opening walls wherever it is possible, and sequence around your other trades so nobody is standing around.

      Learn More
    • Emergency Electrical Services

Burning smell, sparking outlet, a breaker that will not reset, half the house dark. Call us. We answer around the clock and get to Federal Way homes fast, with a stocked truck so most calls finish on the first visit.

      Learn More
    • Dedicated Circuits

Hot tubs, saunas, well pumps, workshop equipment, window AC units, anything with a motor in it. All of that runs better and safer on its own circuit. We size the conductor for the load and the length of the run, so you do not lose voltage halfway across the yard to the garage.

      Learn More
    • Outlet Grounding

Two-prong outlets with no ground path are common in Federal Way homes built before the mid 1960s. Swapping in a three-prong receptacle without running a ground does not fix anything, it just hides the problem behind a plug that now fits. We run a real ground where we can, install GFCI protection where a ground wire is not practical, and label the outlet the way code requires.

Why Homeowners in Federal Way Call Us

Looking for a licensed electrician in Federal Way? We are based at 36007 9th Ct SW, so the truck that pulls into your driveway did not drive down from Seattle to get there. Panel upgrades, EV chargers, rewires, lighting, remodels, new construction. The electricians doing the work are on our own crew rather than subcontractors we found last week.

Reliability is the thing homeowners tell us other contractors get wrong, so we treat the arrival window as a commitment rather than an estimate. If a job ahead of yours runs long, you hear about it from us before you have to wonder where we are. Crews clean up before they leave, and someone walks you through what was done and why before the truck is packed.

You will also get the same person from the first phone call to the final inspection. Alex quotes the job, and Alex is who you call if something is not right. Nothing gets handed to a project manager you have never spoken to.

If the work is not right, we come back and correct it at our own cost.

Electrical work goes better when you know who is running it. ElectON Enterprise is led by Alexandru Goncear, a Washington-licensed electrician who has spent years on residential systems across King, Pierce, and Snohomish County.

Alex writes the estimates himself. He walks the property before quoting, so the figure you get reflects what is actually in the wall rather than a description over the phone, and he stays your point of contact through permitting, the work, and the final inspection.

Several reviews on our Google profile mention him phoning ahead to say when the inspector was due. Small thing. It is also the sort of thing homeowners tell us they never got from the last contractor they hired.

This is my second time working with Alex and crew. I needed a Tesla nema 14-50 installed and needed it that same week. ElectON not only had the best pricing but arrived at my home exact at 8AM as planned. Lastly, everything from permit to inspection was handled by ElectON (Alex even called me to let me know when to expect the inspector).

Alex and his team helped rewire my studio to set up a tankless water heather. I cannot speak highly enough of their work, communication and efficiency. They were collaborative with my contractor, were adaptable to the schedule, showed up on time and were tidy in their work. They came in person to evaluate the complicated situation and to make their estimate. Their price was very fair, and ended up being exactly what was quoted. They gave me multiple options and guided me in making a choice without pressuring me. It was an honest, and easy transaction with quality work, which is a rarity nowadays. It was a pleasure to work with them and I would strongly recommend them.

We are very happy with the quality of the service that we got on our newly bought home. Alex from ElectOn was on time, professional, and knowledgeable. He helped us understand what a full replacement upgrade to my electrical panel would require. Definitely, our first choice when it comes to electrical services again.
I highly recommend ElectON. I have had them install several light fixtures around the house in Kent and even had them add in some spotlights in various places, especially in hard to reach places like the top of the stairs. They always exceed my expectations! I appreciate that they always show up on time and get the work done fast and efficient.
We had Alex come out several times and do work for us and he is the best! He always does a fantastic job and he takes pride in his work.
I will continue to use them and recommend their business to others.

ElectOn's team - Alex and Andrew are friendly and professional electricians. Their price is competitive and they get the job done well. Professional and detailed. We hired ElectOn to get power to our detached garage from our main panel. They did everything we asked - installed a 100A subpanel, lights, switches, outlets, and an EV charging 240V outlet. Everything was done perfectly and in a timely manner. We are delighted with what we paid for and we will recommend ElectOn to all my friends. It appears Yelp's algorithm wrongfully deleted ElectOn's past reviews. They have been suffering from this. I am a senior Yelp user and I can promise you that ElectOn is trusted. Adding a Google Maps review here for their great quality work at an affordable price. Thank you!

I was not at home at all while the electricians did the job, but I came home to a job done exactly as I imagined! The job they did was rewiring to add ceiling light/fan fixtures where there weren’t already any. They were even flexible with me having to reschedule one of the days of the project. Beautiful work, and they also cleaned up after themselves!

I needed an electrical panel replaced on short notice. After calling several different electricians in Kent, ElectON Enterprise exceeded my expectations in terms of price, communication, and service. ElectON Enterprise provided a quote for my project within a few HOURS, whereas other electricians took days, over a week, and some never even got back to me. This was just a simple panel replacement and other companies were quoting 2x and even 3x the price that ElectON Enterprise gave me for the same project. They completed the project & had it inspected by the city within 5-6 days from when I first reached out to them, which I thought was very rare since I’ve had other electricians tell me they were booked out for months. Very happy with the result, service, price, and timeliness of ElectON Enterprise.

We had a couple minor indoor repairs and an outdoor wiring project we wanted done. Customer service interactions were all very professional and helpful. We're very satisfied with the work that was done and the price we were charged.
The electricians who came to the house were above-and-beyond what I expected when it comes to communication and courtesy. If I have any more electrical work I need done I'm absolutely using these folks again.

All my outlets in the kitchen and laundry were outdated. Not only did they come out fast, replaced and update the old outlets, but they also found a problem I've been having with my GFCI in the bathrooms. Clean work, quick and the tech was super nice. Saved them for any future work for sure.

    Questions we get asked

Common questions about electricians in Federal Way, WA

Straight answers about permits, pricing, panels, and what we do and do not handle.

Who are the best electricians near me in Federal Way, WA?

We are biased, so check the reviews rather than taking our word for it. ElectON Enterprise holds a 5.0 rating on Google, we are licensed and insured in Washington, and we are based in Federal Way rather than dispatching down from Seattle when a job comes in. That last part matters more than people expect. A local crew gets to you faster on an emergency and knows what is behind the walls in this specific housing stock. One call at (253) 508-7529 covers outlets, panels, lighting, rewiring, and EV charging.

How fast can you get to my house for an emergency?

We answer at (253) 508-7529 twenty four hours a day, including weekends and holidays. Because our Federal Way office is at 36007 9th Ct SW, response inside Federal Way is usually fast, and Auburn, Des Moines, and Kent are close behind. Our trucks are stocked, so most emergency calls get resolved on the first visit instead of turning into a return trip for parts.

What is the difference between an electrician and an electrical contractor?

An electrician does the hands-on work. An electrical contractor is the licensed business that carries the insurance and bond, pulls the permits, and takes responsibility for the project. ElectON Enterprise is both. We are a licensed Washington electrical contractor, and the electricians doing the work are ours, not subcontractors you never met and did not hire.

Do I need a permit for electrical work in Federal Way?

Usually yes. New circuits, panel changes, service upgrades, EV charger installs, and rewiring all require a permit and inspection in Washington. We handle the paperwork and schedule the inspection as part of the job.

Skipping the permit is a bad trade. It can void your homeowner’s insurance on a claim, and it turns up at resale when the buyer’s inspector finds unpermitted work. We do not do unpermitted work.

How much does an electrical panel upgrade cost in Federal Way?

It depends on your existing service size, whether the meter base and mast also need replacing, how the panel is mounted, and whether Puget Sound Energy has to disconnect and reconnect. Anyone quoting a firm number over the phone without seeing it is guessing, and the guess usually goes up once they arrive.

We come out, run a real load calculation, and give you a written number. The estimate is free and the price is locked before we start.

My breaker keeps tripping. Is that dangerous?

Depends what is causing it. An overload happens when too many high draw appliances share a circuit. Unplug the space heater, flip it back, and if it holds you had an overload. Annoying, not urgent.

A short circuit is different. That is a hot conductor touching a neutral or ground, and it trips instantly every time you reset it. If a breaker will not stay on, stop resetting it and call. A breaker that refuses to hold is doing its job. The bigger worry is the opposite case, a breaker that never trips at all, which is exactly the known failure mode of Federal Pacific Stab-Lok panels.

I have a Federal Pacific or Zinsco panel. How worried should I be?

Worried enough to get it looked at, not worried enough to panic tonight. Both brands have a long documented record of breakers that fail to trip during an overload. Instead of cutting power, current keeps flowing, wires heat up, and the failure happens inside the wall where you cannot see it.

These panels were installed all over Federal Way during the 1970s. If you find one of those logos on your panel door, have a licensed electrician evaluate it. Replacement is usually the answer.

Can my house handle an EV charger?

Maybe. It comes down to your panel’s capacity and your existing load. A Level 2 charger typically wants a 40 to 60 amp circuit, and if you are on a 100 amp service that is already running a heat pump and an electric range, there may not be room.

We run a load calculation before quoting instead of after. If you need a service upgrade first, you hear it at the estimate.

    Do you rewire older homes?

Yes, and it is a large part of what we do here. Knob and tube, cloth-wrapped wiring, and aluminum branch circuits from the late 1960s and early 1970s all show up in Federal Way homes. Insurers are increasingly unwilling to write policies on any of the three.

We rewire circuit by circuit so the house stays livable, permit and inspect all of it, and clean up as we go.

    Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. ElectON Enterprise is a licensed Washington electrical contractor, license #ELECTEL765MN, and we carry general liability and workers’ compensation coverage. Ask any contractor for both. If they hesitate on the workers’ comp question, an injury on your property can become your problem.

    Do you charge for estimates?

No. Estimates are free and written. No trip charge, no dispatch fee, and no revised number once the truck shows up. Whatever we quote is what you pay unless you change the scope of the job.

What areas do you serve besides Federal Way?

Our Federal Way office is at 36007 9th Ct SW, and we also run out of Kent and Puyallup. We cover Federal Way, Auburn, Des Moines, Kent, Milton, Edgewood, Normandy Park, SeaTac, Burien, Puyallup, Tacoma, Seattle, Bellevue, and Everett, plus the surrounding King, Pierce, and Snohomish County communities.
